27 June: VILNIUS - KAUNAS
After arrival in Vilnius, you will be transferred to Kaunas, hotel check-in.
There will be a Welcome Dinner at a typical Lithuanian Restaurant in the evening.
28 June: KAUNAS
After breakfast, you will tour Kaunas, Lithuania’s second-largest city. You will visit the Old Town, Kaunas Castle, the Cathedral and Gallery of Čiurlionis, the prominent Lithuanian painter and composer; stop at the renowned Resurrection Church and admire the view of Kaunas from the top of the church, as well as other memorable sights.
Next is a unique open-air museum in Rumsiskes (20 km from Kaunas). There, you’ll explore Lithuanian country life as it was a hundred years ago. Original country houses and wooden churches from all four regions of Lithuania have been brought together from their original locations. After returning to Kaunas, the evening is free.
29 June: KAUNAS - PALANGA
After breakfast, you will depart for Palanga, the well-known resort by the Baltic Sea. After hotel check-in in Palanga, visit the Amber Museum. Then, you will have enough time to enjoy the resort, and walk Basanavičius St., where you will encounter endless outdoor cafes with great food and live music. Relax and enjoy the life around you.
30 June: PALANGA - NIDA - PALANGA
Today, you will visit the scenic Coronial Spit National Park, Neringa, the narrow and lengthy peninsula washed by the Baltic Sea and Curonian Lagoon. After a short stop in Klaipėda, Lithuania’s only seaport city by the Baltic Sea, you’ll be transported by ferry to Neringa. Your first stop will be the Witches Mountain in Juodkrantė, where you will find many unique wooden sculptures. You will continue to Nida, the charming fishing village. There, you will have an opportunity to shop for some beautiful amber jewelry and visit the highest dune in Neringa.
After returning to Palanga, join the resort tradition, walk to the famous Palanga Pier, and enjoy the beautiful sunset.
01 July: PALANGA - HILL OF CROSSES - PAKRUOJIS - VILNIUS
After breakfast, you will depart for the Hill of Crosses, one of the most revered places in Lithuania. It is where thousands of crosses were placed by people asking God for special favors or thanking God for blessings granted.
Then continue to Pakruojis Manor, one of the most prominent surviving ensembles of manor estates in Lithuania. In summer, the Manor becomes a colorful flower garden and a live museum offering acquaintance with ancient crafts – smithery, pottery, beer brewing, wool manufacturing, etc.
02 July: VILNIUS
After breakfast, you will tour Vilnius Old Town with its beautiful churches, Cathedral with its catacombs and the Bell Tower, stop at the Vilnius University, President‘s Palace and the Dawn Gate
In the afternoon, we will explore a unique Užupis District, a self-declared independent “Republic of Užupis.”
03 July: VILNIUS, TRAKAI & KERNAVE
After breakfast, you will visit Trakai, the medieval capital of Lithuania, with its restored castle in the middle of Galve’s Lake.
In the afternoon, you’ll visit Kernavė, the ancient site in the Neris Valley, the government seat of King Mindaugas 750 years ago. One can still admire and climb the many mounds where great castles stood hundreds of years ago. Upon returning to Vilnius, you will make a stop at the TV Tower, the site of the January 13, 1991 massacre.
In the evening, you may wish to attend various events dedicated to the centenary of the Song and Dance Festival.
04 July: VILNIUS
Visit to the unique Money Museum. Its interactive exhibition introduces visitors to the history of money and banking, Lithuanian currencies as well as banking development in the country from the first credit institutions to the present Day.
Later, we will visit the Palace of Grand Dukes. During the excursion, we will see surviving authentic walls from various periods of the early castle, the rich collection of unique archaeological artifacts as well as as walk through reconstructed rooms and halls representing the Late Gothic, Renaissance, and Early Baroque epochs.
In the evening, you will enjoy a Folk Song & Dance Ensembles concert in Kalnų Park (the ticketed event).
05 July: VILNIUS
A day on your own enjoying many happenings in Vilnius. You may wish to attend the Dance Festival at the stadium (the ticketed event) in the evening.
06 July: VILNIUS
Visit Sereikiskiu Park and enjoy the folklore concerts as well as the many folk artists presenting their wares.
Join or watch the parade of all participants to Vingis Park, where the gala concert – the Day of Songs- will take place (the ticketed event).
07 July: VILNIUS. DEPARTURE
After breakfast, transfer to the Vilnius Airport for your flight home.
