Hot air baloon flights started in Vilnius 12th April exactly when the world was celebrating Jurij Gagarin space flight 50th anniversary. Our colleague Egle had this big pleasure to enjoy Vilnius sights from the sky.
Hot air baloons are frequent in the sky over Vilnius. Normally season starts on April 1st but due to the strong winds the first flight of 2011 was made in the evening on April 12th.
First flight was made on Utenos alus (Utena beer) ballon which is one of the largest in Lithuania. The crew consisted of 8 persons and the flight took 1 hour 15 min. The baloon safely landed in the Nort Esat suburbs of Vilnius.
