Midsummer Celebration in Verkiai Regional Park, Vilnius

Midsummer ("Rasos") Festival is held in Verkių Park according to the ancient Lithuanian customs that have been preserved by the people of Lithuania till current days. At the festival of the shortest night of the year and thriving nature wreaths will be twined, fortunes will be told from grasses, Midsummer Day rounds will be danced, old rituals will be performed, wreaths will be floated down the Neris River, people will look for a magic fern blossom, wash with dew, will greet the rising sun with songs. Well-known folklore ensembles will present their programmes. Most of the participants in the festival usually arrive dressed in national costumes and wearing grass wreaths.
