Lithuanian National Museum18th May at The Lithuanian National Museum (Arsenalo str. 1)


The entrance to the museum is free of charge.
Opening hours: 10:00 – 21:00
The break: 17:00 – 18:00.
At 19:00 two themed excursions for a group of 25 people “The dynasties of the Gediminaičiai– the Jogailaičiai during their reign” and “The house of a Lithuanian”. Please book in advance at (8 5) 26 294 26.

 


Vilnius Picture Gallery19th May at The Vilnius Picture Gallery (Didžioji str. 4)


A closing ceremony of international exhibition “Crosses – a Sign of Virtue, an Arrow – a Sign of Victory….The Sapiegos as Statesmen, Patrons and Collectors of Art”.

21:00 the exhibition closing concert. Camerata Palatina Vilnensis – the concert by Lithuanian Grand Dukes Palace Orchestra (music director Vilhelmas Čepinskis) at the courtyard of Vilnius Picture Gallery. The concert features  Vilhelmas Čepinskis (violin), Asta Krikščiūnaitė (soprano), Viktor Palej (oboe).

23:00 Film “The Deluge” (film director Jerzy Hoffman, Poland, 1974)
 


19th May at The Lithuanian Theatre, Music and Cinema Museum (Vilniaus str. 41)


During the night of museums, visitors will have an opportunity to see an exposition, enlivened by music and dance. The future musicians and ballet stars are going to perform ballet staging numbers.

 

 


 

18th through 19th May at The Genocide Victim Museum (Aukų str. 2A)

 

18th May at The Genocide Victim Museum is the day of open doors. Visitors will have an opportunity to inspect former KGB internal prison and modern expositions. The opening hours of the museum – from 10:00 to 18:00

 


19th May at The Memorial Complex of Tuskulėnai Peace Park (Žirmūnų str. 1F and 1N)

Chapel-Columbarium will be opened as well as the exhibitions. The opening hours from 10:00 to 18:00

Project “The Road of the Condemned 1944-1947” is dedicated to the people killed and tortured by NKGB-MGB. Concert of a classical music; documentaries; night excursions through the territory of Tuskulėnai Memorial Complex. 


 

18th May at Vilnius State Gaonas’ Jewish Museum  (VVGŽM)


You are welcome to visit exhibitions of the museum in The Centre of Tolerance (Naugarduko str. 10/2) and at Exhibition of Holocaust (Pamėnkalnio str. 12). The museum is going to work longer hours.

 

 


18th through 19th May at The Lithuanian Bank Money Museum (Totorių str. 2/8)


18th May the entrance to the museum is free of charge.

19th May the museum will accept visitors from 10:00 through 12:00

The films about history of money, banking and the functions of Lithuanian bank will be demonstrated at the exhibition and educational hall during the indicated hours.
 


 

18th through 19th May at The Railway Museum (Geležinkelio str. 16)


9:00 through 20:00 – the opening hours for the exhibition at The Railway Museum.

18:00 through 20:00 – the opening hours for the new exhibition of rolling equipment displayed outside the museum.

 


19th May at The Energy and Technology Museum (Rinktinės str. 2)


10:00 through 17:00 the day of open doors. Everybody is welcome to visit the exhibitions free of charge at the night of museums.

15:00 through 17:00 physics show will take place. Scientific society of Physics faculty, Vilnius University, will invite everyone to make experiments and to enjoy the miracle of physics!
 


 

18th May at The Mineral Museum of Nature Research Centre under Geology and Geography Institute (T. Ševčenkos str. 13)


Visitors can inspect the museum which is going to work longer hours (till 19:00). Practical classes will take place for pupil groups and everyone wishing to attend.

 


18th through 19th May at The Lithuanian History Museum of the Blind (at The Blind Research Department, The Library of The Blind)


18th May the activity at the museum is dedicated for the partially sighed and the blind, but we are also waiting for everyone else.

11:30 and 14:30 exhibition of tactile publications.

19th May at 15:30 and 18:30 exhibition of tactile publications.

15:00 and 18:00 a presentation of the permanent museum exhibition is to take place.
 


 

 

18th May at Vilnius University Zoology Museum (M. K. Čiurlionio str. 21/27, 3rd floor)


18th May exhibition with excursion: “Teaching Means in Zoology: from Posters to Modern Technologies”.
