Since 1973 every year on the last week of May in Vilnius - International folklore festival „Skamba skamba kankliai“. In 2012 this festival will be organized the 40th time.

During the festival, the courtyards of the old town are occupied by lovers of folk art. Everyone can sing, dance and have a good time in a cheerful crowd. Concerts take place in old town courtyards and concert halls. Each year the organizers attempt to "tame" new spaces. That is how they have settled in Sereikiškės Park and the Bernardine Church, which was filled with sounds of archaic glees.
