Тraditional festivities according ancient customs will be held in many towns and countryside places all over Lithuania. However we would recommend to visit two traditional places for Midsummer celebration: Verkiai park in Vilnius on 22nd of June and Kernave on 23rd of June.

"Joninės" Festival is held in Verkių Park according to the ancient Lithuanian customs that have been preserved by the old people of Lithuania. At the festival of thriving nature wreaths will be twined, fortunes will be told from grasses, Midsummer Day rounds will be danced, old rituals will be performed, wreaths will be floated down the Neris River, people will look for a magic fern blossom, wash with dew, will greet the rising sun with songs. Well-known folklore ensembles will present their programmes. Most of the participants in the festival usually arrive dressed in national costumes and wearing grass wreaths.
