On the 9th of August (depending on weather conditions), an incredible event-concert will take place in Vilnius city, the capital of Lithuania: the attendants will see a pianist playing the grand in the open air on board of a hot air balloon. Such a unique flight will serve as an excellent introduction to the 2nd International PIANO.LT Festival, which will take place in spaces of Old Town of Vilnius between the 10th and 29th of August. The Festival will provide you an opportunity to see and listen to the best and extraordinary star performers of classical music, concerts of the best-known jazz virtuosos.
 

This open air piano music concert from the board of air balloon is very important for us as a cultural action intended to spread widely classical piano music over Vilnius city. The truth is that everyone perceives, appreciates that our trivial routine and outstanding history of Vilnius Old Town have became inseparable from culture supporting and boosting our minds and encouraging for eminent and meaningful aims, - tells Aleksandras Šimelis, the Art Manager of PIANO.LT. The first concert from flying balloon will last 30 minutes. The largest hot air balloon „UTENOS“ with balloon pilot Vytautas Sviderskis will fly in the lowest allowed height over and close to the roofs of Old Town of Vilnius. Fazioli Grand Piano, the King in the world of music instruments and a piano-player from Lithuania will hit the highlight and offer not only musical entertainment surprises ...
