TOUR TO AMBER MINES IN YANTARNY

Tour takes to a small village of Yantarny (formerly known as Palminken) with only around 2,000 people but which at the same time is known as the centre of the world’s amber production. From viewpoints visitors can see two open-caste mines, both active and making their significant contribution to the economy of the Kaliningrad region. The factory visit shows how raw material is polished shaped and prepared for sale.
