TOUR TO SVETLOGORSK

Svetlogorsk - or Rauchen, located 30 kilometres from Kaliningrad became the famous summer sea side resort at the beginning of the 20^th century. The wealth and taste of that era remains in the extraordinary variety of buildings, including its famous Water Tower. The German sculptor, Hermann Brachert (1890 - 1972), lived in the town before the war; his work can be found throughout the town. Tour of the town includes walk along the main promenade, viewing the most impressive surviving pre-war villas, passing by the Water Tower, and walk along the promenade where one can find the largest sundial in Europe, admiring wonderful views of Svetlogorsk’s golden beaches and the green - blue sea from top of the cliffs.
