Day 2:
Breakfast in a hotel. Meeting a guide in a lobby for a walking tour in a historical center. Riga, founded in 1201 by the German bishop Albert, is the largest of the 3 Baltic capitals. It is an important port situated between the Daugava River and the Baltic Sea and a true kaleidoscope of different architectural styles. Explore the surroundings of Riga and see the most popular city attractions including narrow cobblestone streets of the Hanseatic city, the grandeur of the Dome Cathedral, Lutheran spires dominating in the townscape, Jugendstyle city centre. During the tour a pleasant stop at one of Riga Balsams coffee-bar’s to taste traditional Latvian drink - Riga Balsam. Free time for independent activities, shopping and visiting the Christmas Market.

Riga is a true kaleidoscope of different architectural styles, from Gothic to Art Nouveau. Art Nouveau architecture from the beginning of the 20th century made Riga as the Art Nouveau Capital of Northern Europe. The tour encompasses the most significant sights of Art Nouveau district including visit to Art Nouveau Museum, city Canal parks, the, the Freedom Monument.
The tour continues to Riga Central Market famous for hangars that it is located. These hangars were built in 1920ies for German army Zeppelins. This tour will introduce you closer with Latvian food culture. Merchants will offer typical and unique products here – you will meet food used here for a long time as well as new flavors of Latvia.
